I think they're right about people thinking childbirth is almost like an illness now or surgery. I'm not sure what I think about the "orgasmic" part of it. I don't see the connection.
i agree that people, in general, do think of childbirth as an illness or a disaster waiting to happen. i will say i had a pretty awesome birth with my 2nd child and it felt incredibly good and wonderful. my 3rd birth was harder, but felt good too. my first was fine, just a lot more medicalized.
Yeah, I thought this made for some really interesting thinking. I came across it initially kind of put off and shocked, and I still am not sure how I feel about the idea of having an actual orgasm while giving birth. However, I do recognize that labor can FEEL GREAT--- IF you're willing to do what it takes to get into that mindset. Basically what it comes down to is that I'm having a hard time equating the orgasm with birth-- but then again, this is oh so very theology of the body in a wierd way that I'm like, kind of intregued. :) Thanks for your thoughts-- looking forward to hearing more.
Well, obviously I can't REALLY say much on this from personal experience. As I said before and Barbie mentioned, I'm not seeing the connection between orgasms and childbirth. I'm pretty confidant that my wife and I will not be considering this method for the rest of our children. :)
